Job Description – November 2014
Division:        IT Customer Care
Position:        Student IT Consultant (SITC)
Supervisor:    IT Customer Care Lead
Student IT Consultants work in the Help Desk / IT Customer Care Centers at either Rose Hill or Lincoln Center to answer questions and resolve issues relating to software, hardware, and computer peripheral equipment.  They are expected to provide a high level of customer service, demonstrate exemplary interpersonal skills and maintain a professional attitude at all times.
  • Student IT Consultants must be registered Fordham students in good academic standing during the semester of their appointment.
  • Assist students/faculty/staff/administration who call the Help Desk or come into the IT Customer Care Centers to  connect to the Fordham network by updating/installing virus software, updating windows, installing Cisco Clean Access and configuring network connections.
  • Documentation of every customer contact is processed through our SDE ticketing system.
  • Must be dependable and have time in your schedule.
  • Other Duties as assigned.  
Required knowledge:
§         Proficient with Windows XP
§         Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
§         Familiar with installing and un-installing software
Preferred knowledge:
§         Experience with Windows Vista
§         Basic Network Configuration Experience
§         Mac OS X Experience
Training will be provided for:
§         SDE ticketing system
§         Basic Cisco Clean Access troubleshooting
§         Basic troubleshooting with Fordham’s Symantec client
§         Proper Customer Service procedures
§         Proper in-take procedures

For the 2014-2015 academic year, the salary will be $10 per hour.
