Living Past 100, and Living Well:
Centenarian Study Investigates the
Well-being Paradox

“Hitting 100 can come with a cost: loss of health, loss of mobility, and even loss of friends and family—all of which would seem to take any anticipation out of the alleged achievement.

But according to Daniela Jopp, Ph.D., many very old individuals say that they are, in fact, very happy.

Jopp, an assistant professor of psychology, is studying the “well-being paradox,” or the conceptual incongruity between the decline that comes with old age and the actual welfare of the very old.

Celebrated at FCLC Reunion

Charles Priolo, FCLC ’74, was reflecting on his time at Fordham, along with his wife Debra Pena-Priolo, FCLC ’74. The Priolos were two of nearly 600 Fordham alumni who gathered at Robert Moses Plaza for Fordham College at Lincoln Center’s (FCLC) 12th annual reunion on June 15.

NYC Rental Is a
Real “Barkgain”

CAt first glance, Katherine Long seems to fit the parkgoer persona.
She and her husband enjoy visiting Central Park on the weekends with their two dogs, usually passing the afternoon in the shade of an oak tree.

The quartet wouldn’t draw much attention from park passersby—if it weren’t for the hand-painted sign advertising their dogs for rent.
