Severe Weather Locations

Severe Weather Locations

Fordham does not have one indoor facility large enough to hold all our graduates and guests, therefore the University Commencement is held outside if at all possible.

Please be aware that if there is just a little rain or periodic showers, we will likely stay outside. Therefore, please plan ahead and carry an umbrella, wear sensible shoes, and bring a nice sense of humor.

In the event of severe weather, the ceremony is moved inside and broadcasted to the various diploma ceremony locations. If the University Commencement ceremony is moved inside, graduates and guests entering the campus after 8 a.m. will be informed at the entrance and by recorded announcements on campus. You may also call the University at (800) 280–7669 for a recorded announcement after 8 a.m. that day.

If a decision is made to conduct all ceremonies indoors, graduates and guests should report to the following locations:

Bachelor's Candidates Severe Weather Locations:

College of Business Administration – Rose Hill Gymnasium
Fordham College at Rose Hill – Lombardi Fieldhouse
Fordham College at Lincoln Center – Martyrs' Court Lawn Tent

Graduate School of Education – Leonard Theatre, Fordham Prep
Graduate School of Religion and Religious Education – Keating First Lecture Hall

In the event of severe weather, following the University Commencement ceremony, graduates from CBA, FCRH, FCLC, FCLS, GSAS, GED and GRE will remain at the locations above for their diploma ceremonies. Graduates from LAW proceed to its reception.
