1 Full-time academic position HAS now BEEN AUTHORIZED IN 

The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Fordham University invites applications for a full-time, tenure track appointment in medical anthropology at the assistant professor level, effective Sept 1, 2013. The department seeks candidates with research and teaching interests in one or more of the following specializations: applied anthropology, disease/disability, gender, body, or food/nutrition. Geographical area is open, but regions not covered by present faculty would receive priority, e.g., South Asia, East Asia, or Africa. Principal teaching responsibilities will be on the Rose Hill (Bronx) campus at the undergraduate level, with occasional courses in the sociology M.A. program. 

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in anthropology prior to appointment, a strong record of teaching, an active program of research and publication, a commitment to service, and enthusiasm for working effectively and collegially within a diverse faculty setting. 

Interested candidates should submit a cover letter and the following: curriculum vitae, sample course syllabi, evidence of teaching excellence from peer and/or student evaluations, one sample of scholarly writing, and names of three references.
