Why earn an M.A. in Political Science from Fordham University?

1) Our New York City Location

New York is a truly global city, the home of major institutions and organizations. Political Science faculty at Fordham have ties and affiliations with some of them, for instance, the United Nations, CBS News, and NBC News. These affiliations enrich our courses, as well as providing various opportunities for our students as they work on their degrees and after graduation.

2) You Won't Get Lost in the Crowd

Unlike large graduate programs in Political Science, especially those with Ph.D. programs, the Political Science Master's program has a very favorable faculty-to-student ratio. Consequently, you will receive considerable personalized attention from the faculty and the program is flexible enough to meet many of your individualized needs.

3) Success of Our Graduates

Graduates of the M.A. in Political Science at Fordham have been successful in their post-graduation endeavors. Many have moved on to jobs in government agencies at the federal, state, or local levels upon graduation, while others have found employment in not-for-profit organizations and with advocacy groups. Others have found jobs in the private sector where the skills and knowledge gained from the M.A. are highly valued, for instance news organizations looking for political reporters and businesses looking for someone well versed in governmental affairs.

Other students decided to pursue a Ph.D. in Political Science or related fields. These students have been successful in gaining both admission and financial aid packages from among the top Ph.D. programs in the nation. In recent years, M.A. recipients at Fordham have entered the Ph.D. programs at Princeton, Duke, and Maryland.
